The Cedar Bug-Free™ Solution

There is an alternative to ineffective and dangerous chemicals. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is a Natural, non-toxic pest control product that kills bed bugs, mites fleas, ticks, and other pests in your carpet and has been used for years as the keystone in safe and effective bed bug treatments with thousands of satisfied customers. This bed bug powder is not a recent add-on to the myriad of existing products in an attempt to capitalize on the growing desperation of bed bug victims. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder has been proven effective in homes, apartments, hotels, vacation rentals, homeless shelters, assisted living facilities, county and state offices, professional buildings and retail stores, just to name a few.

Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder was developed by a pest control company with over 20 years experience in the use of safe and effective natural pest control products. This bed bug powder is non-toxic and does not contain any harmful chemicals. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder eliminates bed bug infestations in your carpet and lasts up to a year, thus preventing these little monsters from re-infesting your carpets.

If Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is so great, then why isn’t everybody using it? This powder has been the proprietary product of a pest control company for many years and they have wanted to keep it a closely held secret. As a result of recent and numerous requests from desperate bed bug victims across the country, Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is now available to the do-it-yourself market.

Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is a special blend of Eastern Cedar Oil and Silica. Our powder is electrostatically charged and is designed to adhere to the carpet fibers. With regular vacuuming, this bed bug powder will remain in the carpets for up to one year. Even though we have heard from customers that their treatment has lasted more than one year, we recommend re-applying the powder every 12 months to maintain the protection against re-infestation. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is water soluble and will be dissolved and extracted when the carpets are shampooed.

How it Works

If Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is non-toxic and does not contain harmful chemicals then how does it kill the bed bugs? Traditional pesticides kill through a disruption of the central nervous system of the pest. Unfortunately, these toxic chemicals are also harmful to the central nervous systems of people and animals. Cedar Oil does not impact the nervous system; it is only dangerous to pests. When bed bugs and other insects are exposed to Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder, the aroma of the Cedar Oil overwhelms their breathing system and triggers a suicide response—the spiracles (breathing pores) close and cannot re-open. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder also adheres to the outer skeleton of these pests and causes them to dehydrate and suffocate by clogging their respiratory system. Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is electrostatically charged and adheres to the fibers and the base of the carpet, thus preventing the vacuum cleaner from easily removing it all the first time you vacuum. This helps the powder remain in the carpeting for several months and continue to kill bed bugs as they hatch, come out of their hiding places and travel on and inside the carpets. How to Use It

Professional pest control companies use a specialized machine to apply the Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder to carpets and rugs but a homeowner can apply it using a 6 inch wide kitchen strainer, a push broom or regular broom, and a hand brush. Use a dust mask or respirator during application. See Step 1 of The 5-Step Program for detailed instructions.

About the Ingredients

Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is formulated from all natural ingredients that are Generally Recognized As Safe (GRAS) - 5% pure Eastern Red Cedar Oil and 95% Amorphous Silica (not the dangerous crystalline silica). There are no artificial fragrances, colorants or preservatives and no animal by-products or harmful animal testing.

Eastern Red Cedar Oil is extracted from a species of juniper found in North America east of the Great Plains called Juniperus virginiana. The oil is distilled from the trunk and branches, and is considered safe by the US FDA as a food additive.

Amorphous Silica is a form of silicon dioxide, also known as silicic acid when dissolved in water and, in its solid form, is mined as the gemstone Opal. Silica is used in toothpaste, desiccant Silica gel, and is used in the production of beer. In its pure form it is chemically inert. Silica is listed by the US FDA as “Generally Recognized As Safe”.

Cedar Bug-Free™ Bed Bug Powder is classified as a Minimum Risk Pesticide by the US EPA and qualifies for exemption from registration under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act.
